So ashamed at my lack of blogging over the past month or two. I've thought about it several times and never actually sat down to do it. I'm afraid this is going to be another catch-up, random, no real story blog. My apologies.
I haven't avoided blogging for lack of anything to say. I've actually had alot go on since I've last posted.
Here's another list of things I've done (to name a few)
-Spent Thanksgiving at the hospital - not as bad as I thought it was going to be.
-Ran a few short races - No impressive times or anything but such a feeling of accomplishment...definitely plan to do more soon
-Worked...alot
-Planned a few trips - Ski trip to CO in late January and a surprise quick trip to Chicago over new years (I'll come back to that later)
-Had the most whirlwind Christmas of my life thanks to the crazy schedule. Got to see most of the family though so wonderful all in all
-Decided that I am SICK of living in an apartment
-Lots of other fun stuff ;)
The picture? I know it's not recent and I will post some more from Christmas and more recent times soon, but here's the story for this. This picture was taken at the beach this year. The ONLY time that I went to the beach this year. Generally, I make it to the beach at least 2-3 times over the spring/summer. Nope, just one...and I'm a little bitter. I attribute it to work mostly, but still. I'm itching for some warm fun. Some warm, no make-up, freckles, one layer of clothing, fresh air, sun-kissed, seafood FUN dang it! There's my rant.
So Chicago, with Hailey and Bac (3rd wheel...oh well). This transpired very recently and spontaneously. Hails, I still think it's hilarious that I'm your most spontaneous friend, but here's some good evidence for your. Leaving after work the 30th for Nashville to meet Hailey, drive to BG to meet Bac and shower, drive to Chicago (sleep for me), spend the 30 and 31st doing what I can only assume will be amazing and exciting things in a new place, and fly back the 1st to Nashville, drive back to Birmingham, all in time to work again. Crazy? Maybe ;) Very excited. Slightly worried about the cold. This is the girl that starts freezing when the temp drops below 60 here in AL. I'm bringing all my clothes...and wearing them all..at one time.
As much as I love Christmas, I'm ok with seeing it go. As usual, it was pretty stressful to get everything done but just enough fun to want it to come again next year. So I'm retiring my Christmas movies for now...
Back to Birmingham tomorrow for errands, gym, laundry and work. Ok, I guess I'll stop now. I promise I'll do better blogging in January. Happy New Year to everyone!!
