Well, it's been a while...I realize that. I really have no reasons/excuses. I fear that I've become less expressive, so here is my attempt to reincarnate that part of me. Let's catch up.
First of all, it's freezing. Bittersweet feelings about the weather (mostly bitter). I love being outside, the sun, heat and such. I also love the initial burst of crisp air (followed quickly by running inside usually), pretty coats, and the promising smell of Holidays in the air. The cold has dampened several of my favorite activities, but I am really trying to resolve to some new favorites this year...why not? I want to convert to a somewhat winter person from one who hates it (baby steps here). I want to go camping in unreal weather with a kickbutt sleeping bag of course. I want to go ice skating. I don't mean in a old school ice hockey rink, but outside...is there one of those anywhere near me anyway? I want to ski, oh please let me ski! I'm open for any trip out west that arises.
What else? A few things I've done and enjoyed over the past month:
1)Another sips n' strokes which was harder resulting in a crappier painting but equally as entertaining and rewarding.
2)I've picked up crocheting for probably the 8th consecutive winter now. I get such a domestic desire when winter rolls around. Give me some socks to darn or something here!
3)I finally went home last weekend after months. It was a quick trip, granted, but much needed and appreciated.
4)The egg bowl, oh the egg bowl - get it Croom. Bite it Coach O
5)Went to see Rent at the Orpheum. Extremely strange plot, but amazing show.
6)Ate a random breakfast with some wonderful friends that passed through birmingham - Miss you Hails...of course nice meeting you Bac
7)Sounds stupid, but finally got to play piano at my parents house after not touching one for a while - so therapeutic.
Let's talk about the Holidays. Holidays are already different this year. Apart from working several of the holidays, I'm of course very excited about what's to come! I've already dedicated my music to Christmas CDs and constant carols on 96.5. Currently making a list of Christmas movies to watch in marathon mode on one of my nights off. I need to Christmas shop SO bad, but the thought of the galleria around Christmas and people throwing elbows for that last foot massager on sale makes me want to gag. Obviously not a hardcore holiday shopper here.
I'm sure there's more, but frankly, it's 0755 and I'm ready to go to bed. Sorry so scattered and random.
In the depths of winter I finally learned that within me
there lay an invincible summer.
