The secret

As I was calling patients up to triage, M.H.'s turn came. Here comes a enthusiastic little woman trotting up to the desk. I checked back to the screen to look at the person's profile to ensure I had gotten the correct one. 73 yo female.

Me- "How old are you ma'am"?

M.H. - "Why, I'm 73"

Me- "No, there's no way you're 73!!"

So she got me her urine sample and came back to the desk. I told her that she was going to have to share her secret of youth with me so I can have it in the future. She smiled and politely said she would.

When I was having her sign her discharge papers, she said, "So you wanna know my secret?" Of course!! She got a sneaky cute grin on her face and shamelessly told me, "I'm 73, and I still have SEX!"

I congratulated her while I tried to hold back extreme laughter! Then she trotted off with that same grin. So there it is folks... :)

Do you think that old man heard me???

Today has been good...

It's my last week of the triage thing. Even though I'm beginning to tolerate it, I'm still reminded of how I loathe the work quite frequently. There will be work changes in the near future...

I went to a different gym than I usually do. Since I go to the Y, I can go to any location in Birmingham. I wasn't looking for convenience and proximity today. I just wanted a change in scenery. I think I may start doing this one day a week. Y-hopping.

I had a curling iron accident yesterday morning...in a not good place..healing in process...enough said.

I met H for dinner tonight. I had forgotten how fun it was to be around her. Fun to reassure her that her bracelet doesn't make her look like a hippie poser ;)
Now I don't really claim to fall into the bathroom humor scene, but occasionally (when presented the right way) I may just do that. Upon exiting the cheesecake factory (and I just laughed out loud thinking about it while writing), H says she has to "toot" which is just funny coming out of this really pretty tiny girl. Without going into detail, she let out a noise that I would expect from my grandpa, or a trumpet for that matter. Without thinking, I immediately threw my hands in the air in shock. Not to mention we had a couple in their 60's approximately 8-9 feet behind us walking out. So to answer your question, H, YES, I think he heard you.

Hails is in Seattle now, in a really cute room I may add. A visit is in the works with a couple kinks to straighten out. BOO 11 hour flight! What do you do for that long??

It's often good to remind yourself of your worth. Tell yourself how much you're worth. You know yourself better than anyone in the world, therefore don't let anyone change your mind about it.

Hopefully pictures to come!
